Due to upgrades of our facility in Shercock, we are currently recruiting for a number of key positions including a Mechanic/Motor Technician to join our thriving team.

Diesel Engineering Services is a family run company that has been in business for 50+ years. Located in Shercock, we are upgrading our workshop facility annd are looking for someone who is enthusiastic to broaden their vehicle knowledge and have the willingness to expand with the business.

This is a key role in ensuring a highly efficient, timely and cost-effective vehicle delivery process and an excellent customer experience.

Salary:  From €40,000 per annum depending on experience

The ideal candidate will be experienced and fully understand their responsibilities towards the business and the company ethos. They must have their apprenticeship training and certification.

The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all company standards and must be willing to further their knowledge as the industry requires and maintain the highest standards possible.

Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified and Certified Motor Mechanic Technician or trained Motor Technician with experience.
  • Technical qualification – City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft or Technician to minimum Part II, or NVQ Level 3, or National Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering
  • Understand and sign up to the high standards that our workshop must maintain
  • Must be willing to participate in further training as the industry demands
  • Be capable of using diagnostic equipment
  • Full Category B licence

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with other team members, management, staff in a courteous and professional manner
  • Diagnose, repair and service vehicles as required
  • Carry out all work to the highest standards in accordance with dealership standards
  • Keeping updated with technical product information
  • Maintain a clean, orderly workplace, adhering to all company policies, procedures & safety standards
  • Road testing, and quality control checks as required
